Dietary supplements for weight loss

Currently the ways that are proven to help us lose weight are to have healthy habits such as eating healthy foods in a balanced way, reduce the calories consumed and keep us physically active.

However, this change in lifestyle is not always easy, and sometimes we wonder if taking any dietary supplement would help us lose weight.

There are supplements that can help you lose weight because they block the absorption of fats or carbohydrates, others reduce appetite or products that accelerate the metabolism. Although it is important to know that there is not yet much scientific evidence to show that these supplements really help to lose weight and much less without having a good healthy diet and without doing a minimum of physical exercise.

The ingredients that contain the dietary supplements to lose weight can be herbs, fibers, minerals and vitamins in different combinations and quantities. You can find them in capsules, powders, liquids, et cetera.

Main dietary supplements used to lose weight:

Here are some dietary supplements used to help lose weight:

Caffeine
It is a stimulant of the central nervous system, so it increases the waking state, that is, it can make you more alert. It increases the level of energy, helps burn calories and accelerate the metabolism of fats.

Due to its anti-fatigue effect, it can be useful to cope with the feeling of fatigue that can accompany very low calorie diets.

Caffeine is found naturally in tea, guarana, yerba mate and other herbs.

Dietary supplements that contain caffeine may help you lose some weight or not gain a lot of weight in the long term. However, if you already consume caffeine regularly you can develop a certain tolerance to it, therefore, the effect would not be the same.

Caffeine in adults is safe at doses of up to 400-500 milligrams per day. But the excess can lead to make you feel nervous, agitated and even trembling. In turn, it can affect your sleep, so it is not advisable to take caffeine-containing dietary supplements at night.

Konjac glucomannan
Konjac glucomannan is a soluble dietary fiber that due to its great water absorption capacity forms a very thick gel that produces a sensation of satiety and decreased appetite.

Due to its satiating effect it can be very useful in overweight treatments since the decrease in appetite produces a lower intake of food.

It can also be used to regulate intestinal transit in cases of constipation or diarrhea.

A possible side effect of this supplement is the production of flatulence and abdominal pain.

It is important that a large amount of water is taken with the ingestion of this product in order to avoid a hard mass forming a blockage

People who take some type of medication should monitor with this dietary supplement since it can reduce the absorption of medications. Due to this factor, the dietary supplement must be administered at least half an hour before or one hour after the administration of the medication.

Green Tea
The green tea is constituted by the leaves of Camellia sinensis .

It is believed that it helps control and reduce weight because it has stimulant, diuretic and lipolytic properties. On the other hand, it is considered to stimulate thermogenic activity, that is, it helps to increase the amount of calories that the body burns.

Traditionally, green tea has been used as a stimulant for the relief of fatigue and the sensation of weakness, to facilitate urinary excretion and as a detoxifier. This diuretic and stimulating effect of the central nervous effect is due to its caffeine content.

Also, due to the polyphenolic components, the tea has antioxidant capacity and free radical scavenger.

Regarding its efficacy on the lipid profile, research has been conducted in animals that show an efficacy in the reduction of cholesterol, triglyceridemia and the LDL / HDL ratio.

Due to its caffeine content, caution should be exercised during the hours when tea supplements are taken.

Garcinia Cambogia
The Garcinia cambogia , also known as Malabar tamarind, is an abundant species in the forests of southern India.

The fruit contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA) that has effects on regulation in the synthesis of fatty acids, lipogenesis, appetite and weight loss .

This compound produces a decrease in lipogenesis, the formation of lipids, because this compound is inhibitor of the enzyme necessary for the synthesis of fatty acids.

Due to decreased appetite, it can be helpful for reducing the amount of food you eat, limiting weight gain. This supplement was also feature in shark tank show, you can read more about shark tank diet supplements on their website.

The use of this supplement is not recommended in pregnant women or infants, or in people with type 2 diabetes.

These are some of the dietary supplements that can be useful for the reduction of body weight, as long as they complement a healthy diet and a plan of daily physical activity since these plants are not a miraculous product.

There are cases in which the use of these products are a psychological component that contributes to increase their confidence and motivation and, therefore, helps them lose weight in a healthy way.

What causes estrogen dominance? - Side Effects

Estrogen is one of the primary sex hormones in women. Typically, estrogen is in equilibrium with progesterone, another primary sex hormone. When the body has too much estrogen, either due to an overproduction of estrogen or progesterone absence, enters a state called "estrogen dominance".
The dominance of estrogen can result from an excess production of estrogen in the body, a THS common (HRT) during menopause, a decrease in the production of progesterone or estrogen intake in excess by environmental sources, such as meat injected with hormones or man-made chemicals that the body mistakes as estrogen.
