About Bruxism - How to stop clenching teeth

About bruxism:

You can find yourself pressing your teeth regularly throughout the day or, in some cases almost constantly. In many cases, however, people clench and grind their teeth at night while they sleep, without realizing it. For this reason the majority of people who clench their teeth regularly are not to be really aware of and only a small minority is still experiencing health problems as a result.

The most common signs that you have a clenching or grinding problem is increased tooth sensitivity. If the enamel surface of a tooth is ground, it makes the dentin underneath. In contrast to the tooth enamel, the temperature is impermeable; the dentin may be sensitive to cold. In this sense the symptoms of presses are identical to tooth decay and should be checked by a dentist; however, a plurality of teeth with smooth, polished surfaces and cold-sensitivity are the hallmarks of grinding and clenching. In some cases, particularly heavy presses and a sore jaw and even a headache when overused jaw and jaw muscles protesting the load. Stress is also a factor that leads the person to express his anguish at night, grinding his teeth.

The mouth guards and splints are usually used to prevent clenching during sleep. This method helps prevent damage to the teeth and temporomandibular joint problems.
