Home Remedies for Dengue Fever and Prevention Tips

Dengue is a disease characterized by high body temperature. It is caused by a virus transmitted by mosquitoes. If left untreated it can be fatal. Besides the help of a professional, you can also use home remedies for dengue fever. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 2.5 billion people are at risk of dengue. It's about 2 / 5ths of the entire population of the world. About 50 million people are infected with this disease each year worldwide.

Home remedies for Dengue Fever:

Orange juice: the freshly squeezed orange juice is said to help digestion during dengue. It also increases urinary flow and helps in quick recovery by promoting antibodies. Orange juice provides the body with the necessary vitamins and energy to fight against dengue.

Raw papaya leaves: One of the best home remedies for the treatment of dengue fever is raw papaya leaves. Clean leaves, grind them and squeeze them. Use a filter cloth to get the juice. Have 2 tablespoons of the juice every day. This will help in the prevention of dengue. Take care not to boil the leaves and rinse them in hot water as this will weaken the effect.

Dhatura: is an Ayurvedic version of belladonna. Using the leaves of this plant can severely limit the effects of dengue fever. With respect to that it is very important not to use more than 2 dg because this plant can lead to poor negative symptoms such as dilation of the pupils or dryness of the mouth.

Other natural remedies for dengue fever are:


  • Neem leaves
  • Basil Leaves
  • Fenugreek
  • Goldenseal
  • Barley Grass


Besides these remedies, be sure to:

Take adequate rest to recover quickly
Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated
Follow the advice of doctors religiously
Have a supply of potatoes and porridge. Drink herbal tea made from cardamom, basil, ginger, etc.

It is always better to prevent such medical conditions that could be fatal. The best way to prevent dengue is to follow some simple rules.
Ensure the surrounding clean as dirty places are a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Protect yourself from mosquito bites as they are the main carriers of the dengue virus.
Wear clothes that cover most of your body to avoid mosquito bites.
Use insect repellent to keep them at bay.
The mosquito that spreads dengue are active during the day. Therefore, make sure that you are protected in the day.
